Conserving a non-renewable resource.
Transformer oil (also known as insulating oil) is a non-renewable resource that can be re-refined into new product for reuse. When not handled properly, transformer oil can be harmful to the environment as well as humans. At Aevitas, we are a leading hazardous waste management industry specialist in providing industrial manufacturers and electrical utility companies across Canada with transformer oil processing services. Our transformer oil facility receives, treats, and re-refines used transformer oil, removing virtually all PCB content within it, and producing new, high quality transformer oil for supply to the transformer market.
The transformer oil treatment process we use at Aevitas is just one of the recycling services we offer that allows for the continued use of a non-renewable resource. Our fleet of trucks and dedicated oil tankers allow us to drain and transport large or small volumes from coast to coast. Our highly trained and experienced on-site transformer oil personnel know exactly what to do when called upon to drain transformers and various other electrical equipment safely and effectively. For environmentally sensitive locations, our company's personnel will deploy our portable "spill containment berm", allowing the full truck or tanker volume to be contained in an emergency rupture or spill situation.
Our transformer oil facility is a registered waste receiver with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC). Our transformer oil recycling service produces high quality transformer oil that is well-suited for transformer applications:
MODEF60 Mineral Insulating Oil
Our organization's MODEF60 mineral insulating oil is a re-refined transformer oil that is napthenic based. MODEF60 meets existing CSA and ASTM quality standards and is shipped throughout Canada. Our ability to supply and deliver by tanker, tote, drum, or pail meets virtually every customer requirement. MODEF60 can be supplied in either Type I or Type II (Inhibited) formulations. Our Type II Inhibited transformer oil can be added to existing transformer oil to re-inhibit and halt the oxidation process that naturally occurs within transformers over time. Once a client provides us with their particular requirements and transformer volumes, we can formulate and supply them with the necessary amount of supercharged Inhibited transformer oil.
