Lamp Recycling
Aevitas innovated the lamp-recycling process over 30 years ago.
Our lamp recycling program is unparalleled, recycling over 10,000,000 mercury bearing and non-mercury lamps per year.
With these types of numbers, it’s easy to see why we are the largest lamp recycler in Canada and not by accident. Aevitas innovated the lamp-recycling process over 30 years ago ensuring responsible recovery in a safe environment. Linear fluorescent lamps, compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), and other lighting such as high intensity discharge (HID) lamps, contain a small amount of mercury. Unfortunately, we now understand that mercury is highly toxic and does bio-accumulate in humans and our environment. Aevitas operates a safe and efficient process to capture the mercury and contaminated material and separate other lamp components for reuse.
We recycle all types of lamps:
- Fluorescent tube
- Compact fluorescent (CFL)
- High density discharge / mercury vapour (HID)
- Sodium vapor (low & high pressure)
- Incandescent
- Halogen
- Ultra violet (UV)
- Light emitting diode (LED)
- Shatter proof
- Other specialized lamps
