We are currently recruiting for a Chemical Shipping and Receiving Technician to work out of our Edmonton, Alberta Facility. This is a full-time, permanent position with a total compensation plan including:

Responsibilities
- Determine waste classification and characterization; ensure waste samples obtained and analyzed for incoming and outgoing material
- Ensure materials are packaged in proper containers, proper shipping documents are prepared and labelled in accordance with applicable regulations
- Stage materials for shipping; consolidate load fragments; weigh and label materials; prepare necessary documentation
- Count, weigh and measure incoming and outgoing materials; compare identifying information against manifests, bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records; identify and communicate discrepancies
- Follow and comply with all environmental health and safety procedures and regulations
- Load and unloading from trucks, ensuring load is secured according to, or exceeding standards
- Other related duties as directed.
- Operate material handling equipment as required including forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies
Qualifications/Abilities
- Technical certificate or diploma in chemistry or related discipline
- One to two years experience working as a shipper/receiver
- Knowledge of chemical and waste management and TDG an asset
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic
- Class 5 Driver’s License (there is limited public transportation in the area)
